The final workshop on 6th week is about pitching. To prepare the demo day, we learned how to demo our app to catch the spectators’ attention in few mins.

60-second pitch template

Farza shared his experience when he was pitching to Michael Seibel (Y Combinator’s director). Straight to the point at the beginning of the pitch, what are we building exactly.

Don’t prepare long PowerPoint slide to explain the problem statement, potential market size, anything to convince people. People will lose interest if we try to pitch in this way.

60 seconds pitching template (20 seconds for each section):

  • what you are building (Don’t use tech jargon, don’t say it is AI or Web3, just what the product is)
  • demo a quick example to illustrate why the product is so valuable
  • share the progress (show the number)

The key there is make it interactive, greet people and start the conversation like a real human. Let them ask what they are interested to know.

And… practise it!

Demo Day

The demo day was hosted using Gather Town, I was assigned to a booth on Map A. My neighbourhood was very lively and my neighbour on my right was so crowded :P

My university friend visited my booth once the demo day started and had a good catch up. Although my Wifi went down few mins before demo started, I had to use my data hotspot to stay connected for three hours haha. After demo started, there was a power failure at my house. 🌚🌚🌚

Nothing could stop me from presenting SoundBetter! I made it and received so many constructive feedback.

Thanks for stopping by my booth and hope we can catch up again!

I missed the San Francisco IRL event :( Hope I will get the chance to join next time.
